Great site and info. I’d just like to add that if you don’t want to use witch hazel you can just add 3/4 tsp of Distilled water. I mix Wilton’s colors for cakes etc. With the water. It just seems to give better color. As far as coloring goes, I tried it for the first time and it worked out great. I Wilton’s icing coloring of kelly green and rose pink. These are gel colorants and I several pinches in the finished powder product and then mixed thoroughly. Just a tip to the wise- wear rubber or latex gloves when doing this, otherwise your fingers will be discolored for days. One guess I figured that out… My colors came out fairly vibrant witht his method. An update on the colored bombs: I had kelly green and rose pink bombs with a fair amount of Wilton’s icing colorant. The pink ed the water pink but did not discolor the skin and left only a slight pink tinge in the tub which cleaned easily with just a post bath rinse. The green ever, ed my daughters fingertips green while she was playing with the bomb in the tub, and ed the water green as well. The only skin tinged was her fingers and that was only temporary – by the time bathtime was over, her hands had wrinsed clear and no residue left in the tub either. So, I guess maybe green or that bright of green is not a good idea and maybe stick with pastel greens or use not too much green dye. :). 2 Cups Baking Soda 1 Cup Citric 1/2 Cup Epsom Salts 1 Tbsp. Melted Shea Butter (mic 1 min) 1 Teaspoon Sweet Almond Oil Oil from 1 Vitamin E Capsule 1 Teaspoon Fragrance 1/4 Teaspoon Wilton Cake Gel Colorant 3 Sprays Distilled Water Separate Dry and Wet, Mix Wet and add SLOWLY to Dry Mixture. When all the mixture is mixed well, then with one hand, spray the distilled Water in and with the other sure to mix fast with your other hand and then blend slowly for an even distribution of water. Walt had taken a gamble on Technicolor for the Symphonies cartoons in 1932. 's cartoon, Flowers and Trees, was the first to break this new ground and was a success. This motivated to regularly use color from then on out, though it would take another few years for this to translate into Mickey's cartoons. Mickey's first appearance in color was in 1932 's Parade of the Award Nominees, a short created for the 5th Academy Awards banquet. As a result, it was not released to the public. In his first animated appearance in color, Mickey donned green shorts, yellow gloves, and shoes. It wouldn't be until 1935 's The Band Concert, that Mickey was given his first official cartoon in color. The short depicted Mickey as the struggling conductor of a public band concert, with such nuisances as Donald Duck and a sudden tornado causing havoc throughout the performance. Despite the breakthrough, two more Mickey cartoons released that year in black and white; the last of which was Mickey's Kangaroo. With the introduction of color, Mickey's body structure was given a new look; his round body was d by a pear-shaped looking one and his head was changed so his nose was c to his body.
